The biggest crisis looming over us in the 21st century is climate change. It manifests in many forms such as global warming, melting glaciers, floods, cyclones, air pollution, wildfires. The one aspect that has not received adequate attention is soil. Soil erosion is the leading cause of diminishing organic matter in the soil, resulting in less fertile soil and the produce deficient in nutrients. The soil laden water flows downstream and causes sedimentation in the rivers. The polluted river water when it flows into the seas and oceans adversely affects marine life.
